InSeal Contactless Nominee for 2004 SESAMES Awards in IT Security

Among 128 candidates, InSeal has been selected by the SESAMES jury in IT Security with partner Inside Contactless by submitting an application on a contactless microprocessor that allow 15693 based Access Control and GSC-IS Identity applications at the same time.

SESAMES is a competition opened to CARTES & IT SECURITY Show exhibitors (manufacturers, users, integrators and developers) that awards the best and the most innovative product in several categories.

The product consists of a contactless card with a microprocessor chip and JayCOS Operating System. The card allows GSC-IS applications at the same time with already existing access control applications thanks to a dual technology:

1. ISO 14443 A or B for GSC-IS application defined for DOD applications
2. ISO 15693 for existing access control and parking applications

The microprocessor can detect automatically the protocol type and depending on the detected protocol the OS can switch automatically to a GSC-IS application in ISO 14443 or launch a 15693 card emulation to comply to existing systems to provide both middle range and long range communication.

``Thanks to this unique card the user can access a parking lot using the ISO 15693 standard for more convenience thanks to the long range communication, it can then enter the building using ISO 15693 standard or ISO 14443 & GSC-IS depending on the installed reader and then log into the network through his PC. The card combines all the features to create the perfect coporate badge'' says Philippe Frémy, CTO at InSeal Contactless.

Already installed reader base such as iClass readers from HID can benefit from this new product which can also extend its usage to GSC-IS applications which is in the same domain.

``No product like this one exists today in the market and the user needs to carry several cards for the same access control usage. This card will give system integrators more flexibility and value-added features for the deployement access control applications while keeping their cost down and using installed reader base'', says Fabien Franceschini, VP Business Development at InSeal.

The SESAMES Awards ceremony will take place during CARTES & IT SECURITY 2004 exhibition in Paris Villepinte on Tuesday November 2, 2004, with over 500 attendees (exhibitors, visitors, VIP, journalists).
